Jon Aldaia


Jon Aldaia is a PhD researcher within the Palaeorigins ERC project. He is focusing on the reconstruction of Late Pleistocene and Early Holocene palaeoenvironment in SWA, assessing the availability of woody species and forest management practices of prehistoric societies through anthracology.

Graduated on Geography and Land Management in the University of the Basque Country, also completed a MSc in Archaeology Research in Leiden University, in the Netherlands, where he specialised in the analysis of Pleistocene waterlogged plant macrofossils.

He is also a member of Aranzadi Society of Sciences, he worked as a freelance archaeologist in regional archaeological sites, conducting excavation projects as well as offering archaeological services to public and private entities.
